Sh’mini – Echoes Through Scripture

Torah Portion Sh'mini

Leviticus 9:1 - 11:47

This year we will be going through the Torah portion cycle looking for themes which occur in each Torah portion that recurs throughout the rest of Scripture with a special focus on connecting them to the Apostolic Writings (New Testament).

In Sh'mini, Rico and I discuss Mark 7 and Acts 10 to determine if the laws of Leviticus 11 actually were abrogated, as is often claimed. We also discuss the role of the priests in the application of the blood of the sacrifices.

  1. WOW that was great! A lot of information!

  2. Love it when you guys get together! Great teaching!

  3. As usual, superb job gentlemen! The part about eating the lamb during Pesach in relation to being in or outside the land had given me something to think about.

Definitely Lev 11:42 ‘gachon’ – belly and it’s association to the heart, stomach and lust of the flesh – wow! Very cool. Great connection to Acts.

Your expansion on idols is needful. Again, great job with the teaching and thank you both.
