New Payment Option

//New Payment Option

I've had several people try to sign up for a membership and have been unable to due to a conflict with my website software and the membership software. The issue has been resolved by me switching the payment system to Stripe instead of Paypal. Stripe works similar to Paypal but without any balances, it simply charges your credit or debit card without you having to create a Paypal account. It is completely secure as is PayPal. I am still updating some of the options so anyone who prefers will be able to switch payments over to Stripe.

    Will you be keeping PayPal as an option, or will switching to Stripe be a requirement? I, personally, haven’t noticed any issues with my PayPal account. In fact, it is set up as you describe the Stripe setup above and automatically charges my debit card. I’ll switch if necessary though.

      No need to switch. Paypal itself still works fine. The issue is that WordPress, the software I use for this website, recently updated and there is a communication issue between WordPress and the s2membership plugin which creates new profiles and creates the new Paypal recurring payments. So existing members are not affected at all, however when anyone tries to sign up for a new membership and uses Paypal, they receive an error message. I have been told by the tech support for s2membership that this issue will be resolved with the next WordPress update, but I’m not sure exactly when that will be released. So for the time being, new members will need to sign up with Stripe payments instead of Paypal.
